Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading privacy policies. But here's the deal: we respect your privacy and think you should know what we're doing with your info. We've tried to keep this straightforward and honest.
When you sign up or book sessions with us, we'll ask for the basics - your name, email, phone number, and address. If you're grabbing a membership or renting gear, we'll need payment details too (but don't worry, we use secure payment processors).
We also keep track of your climbing activity - which routes you've crushed, what programs you're in, and any coaching notes if you're working with our trainers. This helps us give you better recommendations and track your progress.
Our website uses cookies and similar tech to remember your preferences and see how people use our site. Nothing creepy, just standard stuff to make your experience better.
We're pretty straightforward about this. Your info helps us run the gym and give you a solid experience. Here's what that means:
We won't sell your data to random companies or spam you with junk. That's not our style.
We keep your info pretty close to the chest, but there are a few situations where we need to share it:
That's basically it. We don't have a long list of third parties poking around your data.
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. Here's the breakdown:
Essential cookies: These keep the site working - like remembering you're logged in. Can't really turn these off if you wanna use the site properly.
Analytics cookies: Help us see which pages people visit and how they use the site. We use this to make improvements. You can disable these in your browser if you want.
Preference cookies: Remember your settings and preferences so you don't have to keep selecting them.
Most browsers let you control cookies through their settings. Just know that blocking some cookies might make parts of the site not work as smoothly.
We take security seriously. Your data's stored on secure servers with encryption, and we limit who on our team can access sensitive info. Payment details go through secure, industry-standard processors - we don't store your credit card numbers on our end.
That said, nothing's 100% bulletproof on the internet. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If we ever have a data breach, we'll let you know ASAP.
Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that), you've got rights when it comes to your data:
To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email at climb@emberatonghold.info or give us a call at (604) 782-4053. We'll sort you out.
We've got youth climbing programs, but we don't knowingly collect personal info from kids under 13 without parental consent. If you're signing up a young climber, we'll need a parent or guardian to handle the registration.
Parents can access, update, or delete their kid's information anytime by contacting us.
We keep your data as long as you're an active member or customer. If you cancel your membership, we'll keep some info for legal and accounting purposes (usually around 7 years - tax stuff, you know). After that, it gets deleted.
Climbing progress data and coaching notes stick around as long as you're using our programs, but if you want it gone earlier, just let us know.
We might update this policy from time to time - new services, legal changes, that sort of thing. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and let you know if there's anything major.
We recommend checking back occasionally, but honestly, we'll shoot you an email if there's something important you should know about.
Got questions about how we handle your data? Want to exercise your privacy rights? Just reach out:

Thanks for taking the time to read this. Now get back to crushing those routes!
